Keep in mind, military reserve expenses are treated like employment expenses.  These are not tax deductible for federal tax purposes but may be deductible on your state return, if you are able to itemize your expenses. To report these:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account.
  2. Click on Federal Taxes tab.
  3. Choose Deductions and Credits.
  4. Scroll down to Employment Expenses.
  5. Continue through interview to Any Special Situations?
