What state is involved?

 

The Selections presented depend on what state you are living/filing for.

Military retirement from DFAS is reported on a Form 1099-R, so select that option.  Enter it under 'IRA, 401K, Pension Plan Withdrawals' in the Wages & Income section.

 

Your SSA-1099 for Social Security Benefits is entered right below that.
