If someone makes 41,000 ..Is there a $1,000 tax and 12% taxed too? Did the tax rate change from last year?

    Hi sunshinyday!
    Per IRS for tax year 2022, the tax rate is 12% of income over $10,275 up to $41,774 for single filing status.  See below brackets and link to IRS website.  Also, it's not an additional $1,000 tax.

    22% for incomes over $41,775 ($83,550 for married couples filing jointly);
    12% for incomes over $10,275 ($20,550 for married couples filing jointly).
