IRS Refusing Taxes

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 20 years and in 2019, the IRS refused my 2018 taxes. They didn't tell me what was wrong or what needed to be done. I have been filing and paying every year. They are accepting the payments but refusing the filing. Not sure what I need to do.

    Hi @dallen1-farmers!

At this point, since it is too late to e-file your 2018 tax return, the best course of action would be to print out your tax return (which you should still be able to do from TurboTax), sign and date the Form 1040, and file it by mail.

See this link for the correct address to use when mailing your tax return

If you live in a state with state income tax, your state return in 2018 also would have been rejected. You should print and mail that return to your state Department of Revenue also.

I hope this information is helpful!

Forgot to mention, State accepted 2018 but refused 2019. They withdrew $4800 from my account in 2022. I have never paid more than a few dollars to state every year so I have no idea how they came up with that figure.
