Question

RMD's for Inherited IRA when I am 66 yrs old

Mother passed away in 2021.  Sister (59 yrs) and I (66 yrs) now have this Inherited IRA.

We know it has to be dissolved in 10 years.  However, we are seeing differing articles and reports on RMDs and that IRS was going to 'clarify'.

Do we have to take RMD in 2022?

Thank you

Thanks for your question. Yes you will need to start taking RMDs for the inherited IRA. I find that Fidelity has a good link for this just make sure you use the Non Spouse tab: https://www.fidelity.com/building-savings/learn-about-iras/inherited-ira-rmd
