- How does the 30% tax credit work to buy a PWR Generac Solar battery, which costs about $15,000?

Thank you for participating in this Ask the Experts event. As to your question, if the battery costs $15,000 then you would receive a 30% credit ($4,500) toward your tax liability. If you are unable to use all of the $4,500 in the year you bought the battery, then you can carry it forward to future years.
