IRS Portal Now Open; Status Shows Turbo Tax Didn’t Give Enough Info For Me To Receive Payment

So everyone knows the IRS Portal is now open for you to adjust your direct deposit information if you need to. First it will let you check your status-then it may allow you to update your payment method. I was able to do so successfully. I was not immediately told how long it will take for the funds to come into my account.

FYI- the status of my payment originally was that they didn’t have enough information to send my payment based on my most recent tax return. So basically I got the Turbo Tax Debit Card-no advance, and not a Rush card just the normal Green Dot Turbo Tax card-and basically somehow Turbo Tax has my information all screwed up because the IRS didn’t have enough info to send me my stimulus payment. Everyone around me is getting theirs and I’m sitting here like a fool come to find out it’s because of Turbo Tax. I paid $230 to get my taxes done by them and they screwed me on both my tax refunds and the stimulus. I won’t be back to do business with them again.

It's been two weeks now since I did get my stimulus except I can't touch it. I cut my old card up and need a new one so I contacted TurboTax card through Green Dot and they haven't done anything for me.I haven't been able to speak with anyone through TurboTax or green. To fix this problem. I have sent ever 13 emails to green. And they  still refused me my card. I will never found my taxes ever again through turbo tax. So when I'm doing saving all my information I've sent and if nothing happens I'm going to file theft against Green Dot and TurboTax.

I don’t think anyone should use TurboTax anymore. Using this portal has caused a bigger financial hardship on many families including mine. The only way to assure we’ll be receiving what’s rightfully ours is to file taxes using the IRS website directly. No third party to blame when we get screwed over like now. I will advise everyone I know against TurboTax in the future.

This seems to be a very common problem with, not only Turbotax, but HR Block and many other online tax prep services.  Confusion regarding the third party bank they issue the refunds through.  I to will be discontinuing Turbotax and not because of the mix up on the stimulus payment but because their customer service throughout this has been appalling, or should I say their lack of customer services.  Instead of working to help customers they're time is being spent blaming everyone from the IRS to the bank they partnered with for the mix up.  This is definitely not the way to do business if you want to keep customers. Do yourself a favor, use the IRS FREE file your taxes.   EFF Intuit.

How did you get it fixed? My boyfriend used turbo tax, my parents too, and theirs both went just fine, but mine is saying that it doesn't have enough information. I'm just worried because both my boyfriend and I are out of work right now, and need this money to pay rent.

I did not do anything different, it just worked letting me enter my bank information using my 2018 tax info. I had tried this for weeks with no success indicating they could not process my info after entering bank info

When filling out the irs page. And ask for your total refund amount you have to add you federal refund. Don't add your state refund to the total  number that what people are doing wrong

I got a 750 tax refund in 2018. I assumed IRs took it, they did not the money was released to turbo, and I no longer have that card. After a two hour wait, I ordered a new turbo card over 3.5 weeks ago. They assured me my 2018 and my 1200 would be on THE card. Got email saying new card was printed, and now I still have not got new turbo card. I sent an email asking where my money and card was, no answer. I am turning it over to the fdic to investigate. Turbo green dots are very sketchy.. I never use one again. I'm owed over 2000. I paid 60 and 60,as well. Some one from turbo needs to explain why I still have not received new card or any money. I fully expect the 120 to be refunded. Plus interest. Ty turbo, for screw ing us at the worst possible time. I am do e with TURBO
