I'm using TT Business for a Trust return.  I got most of the way through and was stopped by a message that indicated IRS form 8960 was not ready and i would get an email when it was.  I waited about a week, got the email, and opened the software again.  It went through the update process and I thought it was done.  Turned out that the form was still not updated.  I registered again for the email announcement.  I got the announcement in 15 minutes.  But it's not available according to my software. Is there a patch out there that I need to run?

Also, possibly related; the worksheets show that a capital loss is supposed to be distributed among the beneficiaries, but the K-1's are blank.

Thanks for any help/direction.

I am preparing my 2020 taxes in TurboTax..when I put the second Stimulus check amount in I go from getting a tax refund from IRS to owing, which was about a $1200 variance.  Why do I owe now?

Yes you can see your refund or tax due change when you enter the Stimulus payments.  Your 2020 return starts out by assuming you didn't get any Stimulus payments so it gives you credit for the full amount.  Then near the end you enter how much you actually got so it only gives you the difference if any.  You don't get it twice.

so I put zero in the Stimulus payment amount?

If the Stimulus payments are nontaxable why then does it end up changing the tax return

I explained it.  Turbo Tax started out by giving you the full amount again.  But you already got it.  So it took it away.  It is not taxable and you don't get it twice.

I didn't get the second check until January 2021, I don't have to claim it right since I received it 2021

Sorry you have to enter it.

Yes a payment you got in January or February 2021 is an Advance and based on your 2020 return.  Enter the second Stimulus payment on your 2020 return now.  The year you got it doesn't matter.  If you don't report it Turbo Tax will give it to you again, which would be wrong and double.  The Stimulus entry screen says the second one is between Dec 2020 and Jan 2021 so you should include any payments you received in January and February.

1099B problem with TURBOTAX processing broker transactions identified as a "WASH SALE" only when the "DISALLOWED LOSS" is less than $.50.  Column 1F as formatted and reported by TDAMERITRADE GAINSKEEPER. THIS is VERY ANNOYING. Simple to see that the provided 1099-B is formatted in DOLLARS AND CENTS AS $$$.CC and TURBOTAX is using WHOLE DOLLARS with rounding.  Sooo the column becomes ZERO. Shows the problem asks correction but doesn't do it!!!!!!

Incredibly frustrating because it identifies this as the LAST STEP before filing....
