Refund Advance- credit karma closed account

Soo we are all just completely s#it out of luck and should just expect a check in the mail God knows when???? thats super lame.

I am going through the same thing. I was able to talk to a live agent but since my taxes hit that closed account no one at credit karma answer the calls now, I am going to look into taking legal action and I am not using TurboTax anymore 

How does it take them to send out paper checks from a closed account?

They closed my account right after I got the advance this year and I was finally able to open a new account with them but I was upset because my refund was going to be sent to a closed account well I got an email last night saying my refund was deposited in my account but when I look there is nothing so I’m like great it was sent to the closed one! I get on there this morning to chat with credit karma and my refund was put in my save account on my new account made not the one they closed! So it worked out I do hope you get yours also! I was for sure expecting a check at that point

Same thing happened to me. I was minding my business and last week I was sent out an email saying that my account was locked and 3 minutes later saying that my account was deactivated. I called several times and I upload my drivers license and social. They reactivated my credit karma account only and left my money spend account frozen. When I notified them that my taxes was hitting the account the next day (2/22/24), they completely closed my credit karma money spend account. I just find that strange. I called several other times and they lied like they couldn’t see my refund, it wasn’t there, told me my taxes was sent to a closed account but they see it pending…. I mean, I've heard all kinds of excuses all but when they’ll mail my check out saying that I have to wait on an email from the higher department. I don’t believe there is one because it’s been 10 days, going on 11 days and I have not heard anything back. Banks or whoever are suppose to notify you first before closing out anything. They failed to do that and still can’t give me a reason as to why my account was closed. I still don’t have my money right until this day. IRS said to wait 5 days to see if I hear anything then they will issue me out a check. 

They closed my account on January 2024 without me noticing and I even saw my checking out numbers were different but I thought since the routing numbers were the same I was good but they said they'll either accept my refund and put it into my new account or have IRS send me a check. I'm pissed either way last time I'm doing taxes with credit karma they really played with people's money. 

Yes, they closed my account and the funds went to my supposedly closed account. How did my taxes go to a closed account? Then they said they mailed my check out on the 23rd.

Yes! My husband used last years method which he didn't pay attention that it was a credit karma account and now we are sitting broke waiting for a check and bills due. The customer service guy can't answer anything. I'm closing my personal accounts after this because it's shady to close accounts for no reason.

It happened to me as well. I filed my taxes on January 17th using turbo tax like I have done for years I used credit karma for the refund advance like I have done for the last few years. I received my refund advance on my spend account I spent a good bit of it, then woke up and my account was closed and the remaining $600 dollars was gone. I called and emailed for hours before being told they closed my account because I didn’t verify personal information within 60 days. (Mind you I have had this account for a few years) they said I would receive my refund in a check from the government because it would not deposit into that account since it was closed and I could open a new spend account in 15 days. And that they mailed the remainder of the refund advance in a check on January 29th as of today February 26th it the $600 advance check still hasn’t came. Well it’s been way more than 15 days I still can’t open a new spend account and now my federal return minus the refund advance is sitting in my credit karma save account and I can’t get it out. The two accounts I have tried to link as an external bank to transfer to they won’t approve of either and I can’t open a new credit karma spend account to transfer it to. 
I just find it should be illegal to put my money in a different account then I agreed to when I signed to file my taxes the account number on the spend and save account are completely different and I have my tax documents to prove that and screenshots of the save account number. I feel like that has to be illegal they accepted my money from the IRS and put it in an account that I did not agree to without my permission and now I’m stuck trying to get my money out and Credit Karma keeps saying link an external bank or let them mail me a check. I don’t want them to mail me a check as I still have not received the first check with the remaining refund advance amount that was left that they said they mailed out on January 29th. Anyone who can help with this please reply to comment. I feel they did this to so many of us that there has to be something that can be done. This can not be one person’s mistake this seems more like fraud

I talked to support chat days before money was deposited and they managed to put it into my new checking account thank God. And now I'm waiting for my state 🤞
